Customer restrictions control who can buy applicable products. Unlike customer-tag quantity rules, these rules determine eligibility rather than the allowed number of units.

Choose the tag direction

For VIP-only sales, add VIP and choose the second option. Multiple tags use “any”, not “all”. Listing VIP and Wholesale does not require both.

Require sign-in

Enable Require a customer account sign-in to make guests sign in before purchasing applicable products. This helps identify tags instead of relying on an unidentified visitor. For sign-in only, leave the tag list empty and enable the account requirement.
All buyers of the applicable products must sign in when this requirement is enabled, even customers who are not blocked by tags.

Create a customer rule

  1. Open Customer restriction rules from the home page and create a rule.
  2. Enter tags and click Add tag, or skip tags for sign-in only.
  3. Select the correct tag mode and account requirement.
  4. Select all products, specific products or collections under applicable items.
  5. Choose the timing, select Active, and click Create and activate (创建并启用; 保存并启用 when editing).
  6. Turn on Enable customer restriction rules on the customer overview page.

Purchasing is different from browsing

These rules do not automatically hide product pages, prices or collections. They check buying eligibility and are not page-access control. Try member exclusives or blocking tagged customers.

Require sign-in without a tag

Leave tags empty and enable the sign-in requirement. Follow require sign-in for setup and identity tests.
